Bayern Munich have announced a new contract for Konrad Laimer until 2029 after reaching an agreement on improved personal terms with the Austrian midfielder.

Bayern Munich have officially confirmed that Konrad Laimer has signed a new contract that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2029. The extension secures the future of one of the club’s most dependable midfielders following weeks of negotiations.

The announcement comes after Laimer himself hinted earlier in the day that an agreement was close. The Austrian international has now put pen to paper on a fresh long-term deal at Bayern’s Säbener Straße headquarters.

Laimer’s renewal follows discussions over improved financial terms. The 29-year-old had reportedly sought an increase from his previous annual salary of around €9 million to a figure between €12 million and €15 million.

Bayern were initially reluctant to meet those demands, believing the requested figures were too high. However, negotiations continued behind the scenes, with both parties eventually reaching a compromise that included a more moderate salary increase.

Reports suggest honorary president Uli Hoeneß played an important role in helping both sides reach an agreement. His involvement proved instrumental in ensuring the negotiations concluded successfully.

Sporting director Max Eberl welcomed the extension, praising Laimer’s consistency and influence within the squad. He described the Austrian as one of the team’s most reliable performers and highlighted the qualities that make him an important figure in the dressing room.

Eberl also emphasised Laimer’s professionalism, work ethic and leadership, noting that the midfielder motivates those around him every day through his commitment and attitude both on and off the pitch.
