Aston Villa are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho on an initial loan deal as Unai Emery looks to replace Morgan Rogers.

Aston Villa have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho, with the Midlands club said to be in advanced talks over a potential deal this summer.

The move comes shortly after Chelsea agreed a club-record £117 million transfer for Morgan Rogers. With the England international expected to complete his switch to Stamford Bridge soon, Villa are already working on securing a replacement.

According to reports, Villa’s proposal consists of an initial loan deal with a conditional obligation to make the move permanent. While discussions are progressing, the two clubs are yet to reach a final agreement.

Villa manager Unai Emery is believed to be a long-time admirer of Garnacho. The Spanish coach previously attempted to sign the winger during his time at Manchester United, but the player ultimately opted to join Chelsea instead.

Emery remains convinced that Garnacho possesses the quality and potential to thrive under his management, making the Argentine one of Villa’s top attacking targets as they prepare for the new season.

Serie A side AS Roma have also expressed interest in signing Garnacho, but Villa are confident Emery’s influence and the opportunity for regular first-team football could give them an advantage in the race.

Should negotiations progress successfully, Garnacho would arrive as Villa’s direct replacement for Morgan Rogers, adding pace, creativity and attacking flair to Emery’s squad as the club prepares for another demanding campaign in domestic and European competitions.
