The loss at the Etihad Stadium could prove pivotal in the title race, although Arsenal still hold a narrow three-point lead at the top of the table. However, with City having a game in hand and building momentum, the pressure is mounting on the Gunners as the season enters its final stretch.
Arsenal’s recent form has raised concerns, with four consecutive domestic defeats ending their hopes of silverware in both the League Cup and FA Cup.
There are also fears of history repeating itself, as Arsenal previously surrendered strong positions to City in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons before finishing as runners-up.
Despite this, Arteta pointed to the team’s performance levels and daily work on the training ground as reasons for continued confidence. The Spaniard emphasized that everything remains in Arsenal’s hands, urging his players to stay focused and maintain belief as they push toward the finish line.
With a Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid also on the horizon, Arteta dismissed any suggestion his squad needs extra motivation, insisting they are fully committed to competing on all fronts.
