Arsenal moved five points clear of fellow title contenders Manchester City following a dramatic 1-0 win over West Ham.
Arsenal and West Ham faced off at the London Stadium in a game that would define their seasons, and the Gunners got off to a bright start when Calafiori saw his effort in the opening exchanges deflect over the bar.
Arsenal came close again through Leandro Trossard, who saw his first attempt pushed by Hermansen and his second attempt cannon off the bar.
Arsenal had the upper hand in the opening exchanges of the game as Mavropanos had to block Calafiori’s header from a Declan free kick. The momentum would later shift to West Ham’s favor following Ben White’s injury after a collision with Summerville.
Arsenal almost went behind in the closing stages after Wan Bissaka’s cross found the head of Taty Castellanos, who was denied superbly by David Raya.
Arsenal made a tactical change at half-time in a bid to win the game, and once again, they were in control of the game. All their control did little to threaten the West Ham goal, but the Gunners were lucky not to go behind as Mateus Fernandez found himself in space in the box.
Fernandes breezed past the Arsenal defence but was denied by Raya. The save would eventually prove useful as Arsenal went down the other end and scored a very decisive goal. Odegaard made a surging run into the box and put his cutback on a platter for Trossard, who fired the Gunners into the lead.

With time running out, West Ham threw everything into the game, and in a dramatic fashion, they pulled one back in the dying minutes of the game. Callum Wilson’s shot from a rowdy corner had made it 1-1, but after a lengthy VAR review, the goal was ruled out for a foul on Raya.
Arsenal at full time got a much-deserved relief and a five-point lead over Manchester City, who are in action during the week. For West Ham, it is a damaging defeat as they are still one point behind Tottenham, who have a game in hand.
