Carlo Ancelotti has called up a 26-man squad for Brazil’s November friendlies against Japan and Singapore.

The coach left out Liverpool’s Alisson Becker but said the goalkeeper remains his first choice ahead of next year’s Copa America.

Ancelotti named Bento, Lucas Perri and Coritiba’s Morisco as his three goalkeepers for the matches in Singapore. He said there was little reason to assess Alisson again after working with him and seeing what he can offer the national team.

“We don’t need to test Alisson,” Ancelotti said. “We know him very well. He’s the best goalkeeper. When the Copa America starts, he’ll be called up. Like Alisson, all the others will be.”

The Italian is aiming to give younger players more opportunities before Brazil’s next major tournament. Out of the 26 players called up, 15 are under the age of 23. Nine are also eligible for selection in the Olympics.

The squad will face Japan on 14 November before taking on hosts Singapore three days later at the Singapore National Stadium. The Japan fixture will be Brazil’s first meeting with the Asian side since their encounter at the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Ancelotti said the matches would give his coaching staff an opportunity to assess the country’s next crop of players.

“This is a period where, more than focusing on the quality of the opponent, we need to focus on what we have to do, on the team’s renewal project, on seeking a new generation,” Ancelotti said.

“It’s a very balanced, very young squad. It’s a team very much focused on the future.”

Chelsea forward Estevao is among those given another chance to establish himself in the senior side. The 19-year-old has struggled to secure regular minutes since moving to Stamford Bridge, but Ancelotti does not believe his club situation should affect his prospects with Brazil.

The Italian said the national team would continue to monitor the youngster’s development and give him the opportunity to show what he can do.

“We hope he can show all the quality he has. We’ll keep an eye on him,” Ancelotti said.

“If he doesn’t play a single minute at Chelsea, we’ll keep an eye on him until the day we think he’s no longer useful for the national team.”
