AC Milan have dismissed Massimiliano Allegri after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League, with senior executives also removed in a major restructuring.
AC Milan have officially sacked manager Massimiliano Allegri following the club’s failure to secure Champions League qualification after a dramatic late-season collapse in Serie A.
The Rossoneri confirmed the decision on Monday in a strongly worded statement, describing the campaign’s conclusion as an “unequivocal failure” after Milan finished fifth in the league standings.
Allegri was not the only major figure to leave the club. Milan also announced the departures of CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada as part of a sweeping overhaul of football operations.

The final blow came on Sunday when AC Milan suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Cagliari, capping off a disappointing end to the season in which the team won just one of its final four league matches.
In their official statement, AC Milan explained that the club’s main objective this season had been to return to the Champions League while building a foundation capable of consistently competing for the Serie A title.
Although AC Milan spent much of the campaign inside the top two positions and remained in the Scudetto race for long periods, the club admitted the team’s performances collapsed during the decisive final stretch of the season.
Allegri had returned for a second spell at Milan at the beginning of the campaign, more than a decade after his first stint with the club between 2010 and 2014. While the veteran coach initially guided the team into contention near the top of the table, the sharp decline in form ultimately cost him his job.
AC Milan stated that further announcements regarding new appointments will follow soon as the club begins a major rebuilding process ahead of next season. The Italian giants are now preparing for significant changes both on and off the pitch as they attempt to recover from missing out on Europe’s elite competition.
