AC Milan’s busy summer transfer window shows no signs of slowing down, with the Rossoneri reportedly reaching an agreement on personal terms with Benfica defender Antonio Silva as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The 22-year-old centre-back has emerged as Milan’s next priority after the club completed a club-record move for fellow Portugal international Goncalo Ramos. Like Ramos, Silva is represented by renowned Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, whose growing influence is becoming increasingly evident at San Siro.

Following a disappointing 2025-26 campaign, AC Milan have moved quickly to rebuild under new head coach Ruben Amorim. After weeks of uncertainty that saw the club operating without a permanent head coach, sporting director, technical director and CEO, the Rossoneri have launched an aggressive recruitment drive aimed at restoring the club to the top of Italian football.
The arrival of Ramos appears to be only the beginning. AC Milan have been linked with several other Mendes clients, including Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado and Sporting CP winger Francisco Trincao, as Amorim looks to assemble a squad capable of challenging for major honours.
According to reports, Silva has already agreed in principle to join AC Milan on a five-year contract that would keep him at the club until the summer of 2031. The agreement on personal terms is understood to be in place, leaving the two clubs to negotiate a transfer fee.
Discussions between AC Milan and Benfica are reportedly progressing, with the Italian giants now preparing to submit an official offer for the highly-rated defender. Silva has long been regarded as one of Portugal’s brightest defensive talents, and Milan believe he would fit perfectly into Amorim’s long-term project.
