AC Milan are considering signing free agent Sergio Reguilon, with the player’s representatives reportedly reaching out to the Rossoneri to discuss a potential move.

AC Milan is weighing options to strengthen  its defense, and one name that’s surfaced is Sergio Reguilon.

Reguilon’s representatives have reportedly made contact with Milan, sparking interest in the player despite the transfer window having closed.

Reguilon, 28, has become somewhat of a journeyman, playing for six different clubs in the last six years. His most notable stint was perhaps his loan spell at Sevilla, where he won the Europa League in the 2019-2020 season. He has also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Atlético Madrid, Manchester United, and Brentford, though his time at these clubs has been marked by mixed performances.

The defender’s spell at Tottenham was particularly notable for its inconsistency. Despite playing 67 times for the North London side across two seasons, Reguilon was loaned out multiple times before eventually leaving the club as a free agent this summer.

Milan’s interest in Reguilon comes as Massimiliano Allegri’s side looks to strengthen its squad. While negotiations aren’t currently underway, a potential move can’t be ruled out if Allegri requests additional reinforcement from sporting director Igli Tare.

Reguilon’s experience and versatility could make him an attractive signing for Milan. Having played in various positions across his career, Reguilon’s adaptability might prove valuable in addressing the team’s defensive needs.

With the transfer window closed, any potential move for Reguilon would require careful planning and internal approval within the club. If Allegri and Tare deem Reguilon the right fit, AC Milan might just find itself swooping in for the experienced defender.
