Inter Milan suffered a stunning 2-1 home defeat to Udinese in the Serie A.

Inter Milan saw their perfect start to the season come crashing down as they suffered a shocking 2-1 home defeat to Udinese at San Siro. Despite dominating possession with 68%, the Nerazzurri couldn’t capitalise on their chances, ultimately falling victim to Udinese’s counter-attacks.

The match got off to a lively start, with Vakoun Bayo almost scoring on his debut for Udinese. However, it was Inter who struck first, with Denzel Dumfries tapping in a beautifully crafted goal involving Lautaro Martinez, Federico Dimarco, and Marcus Thuram.

The hosts’ lead was short-lived, though, as a contentious penalty decision awarded to Udinese after a VAR review allowed Keinan Davis to level the score.

Udinese’s equaliser sparked a change in momentum, with the visitors starting to create more scoring opportunities. Their persistence paid off just before halftime when Arthur Atta’s stunning curling shot beat Yann Sommer, leaving Inter reeling.

The second half saw Inter push for a winner, but they were thwarted by Udinese’s resolute defence, particularly Oumar Solet, who made crucial tackles to deny Nicolò Barella and Marcus Thuram. Despite sustained pressure, Inter couldn’t find the breakthrough, with Thuram’s header hitting the crossbar and Hakan Calhanoglu’s shot flying wide.

Inter did manage to score again, but Marcus Thuram’s goal was disallowed due to offside. Inter had a few more chances in the game, but they failed to equalise. Udinese took the win and all three points from Inter Milan.
