Juventus coach Igor Tudor attributes his team’s 1-0 loss to Real Madrid in the Club World Cup to the challenging weather conditions in South Florida.

Juventus coach Igor Tudor has blamed the tough weather conditions in South Florida for his team’s 1-0 loss to Real Madrid in the Club World Cup round of 16. The game was played in extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 86°F (30°C) and 70% humidity, making it feel like 90°F (32°C).

Tudor stated that his players were “really fatigued” due to the difficult conditions, with 10 players asking to be replaced during the game.

The Juventus coach emphasized that the end of the season, combined with stress and the physical demands of the game, took a toll on his players’ energy levels.

The heat wave in the US has raised concerns among players and unions, with Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca questioning whether the US is the right host country for the Club World Cup. Juventus and Inter Milan both were eliminated in the round of 16, leaving no Italian clubs in the quarterfinals.

Juventus will next play a friendly against Borussia Dortmund on August 10, before opening the Serie A season against Parma at home on August 24-25.
