Manchester United are considering the possibility of signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin in January as they look to strengthen their attack, although a move for the Leeds United striker is expected to be difficult to arrange.
United’s interest in a striker comes as Benjamin Sesko continues to recover from injury. Sesko is understood to be out until January at the earliest, leaving Michael Carrick’s side pondering how to add more goals to their attack.
The club’s recruitment staff are assessing whether a deal could be possible when the transfer window opens. Calvert-Lewin has been on the club’s radar for some time, but Leeds are unlikely to welcome interest in a player who has become an important part of their side.
The 29-year-old joined Leeds from Everton on a free transfer in the summer of 2025 and has two years left on his contract. Leeds are understood to be keen to offer him a new deal, despite having only signed him to a three-year agreement 14 months ago.
Calvert-Lewin has made a strong start to life at Elland Road after injuries disrupted his final seasons at Everton. He scored 14 goals in 35 appearances in his first campaign and has found the net four times in eight Premier League matches this season. His total for the current campaign stands at five goals in all competitions.
His form also earned him a recall to the England squad in March, five years after his previous appearance for his country. He has scored 20 goals in 49 games for Leeds.
