Tzolis Will Be The Signing of The Summer

Yes, it’s early days but having watched Tzolis in preseason and opening game of the season, he has the potential to be the signing of the summer.

Watching Tzolis felt like Arsenal finally got the breath of fresh air their attack needed last season. He was just incredible.

Tzolis wasted no time in showing his class to newly promoted Coventry City. He kept going at Van Ewijk, pressing him when he hesitated and, eventually he broke the Coventry defender’s resistance.

Van Ewijk gave away the ball and it led to Arsenal’s first goal.

Tzolis made Arsenal’s attack stronger. He wasn’t scared to take on his man and he beat him. He played in opponents who were in better positions than him, keeping Arsenal’s ball progression in full flow.

He also completed Saka on the other wing. Last season, Arsenal always went through the right wing and when Saka got injured, it became harder to create chances but with Tzolis yesterday, both wings were ripping into the Coventry defence.

He was always an outlet for the ball and he didn’t make unnecessary back passes or touches on the ball. In fact, anytime he got the ball, Arsenal fans were really loud.

Defensively, he covered for Calafiori. He doubled up quickly and has insane stamina which he showed in running up and down the wing.

Anytime Calafiori was out of position, usually after making an attacking run, Tzolis was quick to cover for his partner.

He was unlucky to get a goal or assist in his first Premier League game but he will definitely get one in the next couple of games. He is a fresh addition to Arsenal and he will be in the conversation for signing of the season, when the season ends.
