Bayern Munich are reportedly prepared to listen to exceptional offers for defenders Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito as the club continues evaluating its squad ahead of the new season.
Davies has endured another frustrating campaign plagued by injuries and fitness concerns, with those issues continuing during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His inconsistent availability has reportedly prompted Bayern to reassess his long-term future.
Ito has also struggled with injury problems since arriving from VfB Stuttgart. The Japanese defender has found it difficult to establish himself in Munich, limiting his impact during his first spell with the Bundesliga champions.
Earlier reports suggested Bayern were determined to keep Davies at all costs after handing him a new contract. However, that stance appears to have softened following the arrival of Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Brown enhanced his reputation with impressive performances for Germany at the 2026 World Cup, where he established himself as the national team’s first-choice left-back. His arrival has increased competition in Bayern’s defensive ranks.
Despite the willingness to consider offers, Bayern are not actively pushing either Davies or Ito towards the exit. Any departure would depend on receiving proposals that the club considers exceptional from both a sporting and financial perspective.
Away from the defensive department, Bayern are also working to reduce the size of Vincent Kompany’s squad. The club is prioritising permanent exits for several players who spent parts of last season away on loan.
João Palhinha, Sacha Boey, Bryan Zaragoza and Armindo Sieb are all expected to be moved on if suitable offers arrive, with Bayern keen to complete permanent transfers as they continue reshaping the squad for the 2026/27 campaign.
