Arsenal are pressing ahead with their pursuit of Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers despite closing a deal for Christos Tzolis.

Arsenal are intensifying their efforts to sign Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers, even as they edge closer to completing the signing of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge. The Gunners remain determined to strengthen their attack with multiple additions before the transfer window closes.

Earlier this week, reports revealed that Arsenal had closely monitored the World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina, with Morgan Rogers and Julian Alvarez both firmly on the club’s radar. Initial contact has now been made regarding Rogers as Arsenal begin laying the groundwork for formal negotiations.

The imminent arrival of Tzolis, who is expected to join for 11around £34 million, had sparked speculation that Arsenal could cool their interest in Rogers. However, sources insist the two deals are separate, with both players viewed as capable of playing important roles in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Arsenal continue to regard Rogers as their priority attacking target this summer. The club believes the England international possesses the creativity, versatility and goal threat needed to take their frontline to another level following last season’s title-winning campaign.

There is also optimism over the player’s willingness to make the move. Arsenal are understood to have no concerns about agreeing personal terms, with Rogers reportedly keen on joining the Premier League champions if the clubs can reach an agreement.

The biggest hurdle remains Aston Villa’s valuation. Arsenal are seeking clarity over the financial package required to complete a deal, although current estimates suggest Villa would demand as much as £130 million before considering the sale of one of their prized assets.

Despite the sizeable asking price, Arsenal are not expected to walk away easily. The club has already boosted its transfer budget following Leandro Trossard’s move to Besiktas, while further departures involving Gabriel Martinelli or Gabriel Jesus could provide additional funds for a blockbuster transfer.

Should negotiations with Aston Villa ultimately fail, Arsenal have identified Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as an alternative option. For now, though, Morgan Rogers remains Arteta’s preferred target as the Gunners push to complete one of the summer’s biggest Premier League transfers.
