Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of Morocco midfielder Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven on a deal until 2031.

Bayern Munich have officially announced the signing of Morocco midfielder Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, with the 25-year-old putting pen to paper on a long-term contract that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2031.

The Bundesliga champions are reported to have paid around €50 million to secure the services of one of the standout performers of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Saibari arrives with a growing reputation after establishing himself as one of PSV’s key players and continuing that form in the World Cup.

An attacking midfielder renowned for his creativity and eye for goal, Saibari will add even more firepower to an already formidable Bayern attack featuring Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, Jamal Musiala, Lennart Karl and Serge Gnabry.

Speaking after completing the move, Saibari admitted it was a dream come true to join the German giants. He said signing for Bayern was something every young footballer aspires to achieve and expressed his ambition to compete for major honours, including the UEFA Champions League.

The Morocco international has been one of the revelations of the World Cup. He found the net in all three group-stage matches before calmly converting the decisive penalty in Morocco’s dramatic shootout victory over the Netherlands in the Round of 32.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl welcomed the club’s newest arrival, describing Saibari as one of the tournament’s most exciting players. He said Bayern were delighted to complete the signing after monitoring the midfielder’s impressive development.

Speculation over the transfer had been building throughout the World Cup. Reports suggested Saibari even missed a Morocco training session in New Jersey earlier in the tournament to undergo a medical before finalising his switch to Bavaria.

Born in Spain before moving to Belgium as a child, Saibari chose to represent Morocco at international level and made his senior debut in 2023.

He now joins a Bayern side looking to build on a remarkable 2025/26 campaign, having won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double while narrowly missing out on the Champions League after a dramatic semi-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
