Having already wrapped up the Serie A title earlier in the season, the Nerazzurri capped off a remarkable campaign by lifting the Coppa Italia for the first time since 2023. Inter entered the final full of confidence after beating Lazio 3-0 in the league just four days earlier, and that momentum carried into the showpiece event in Rome.
After a physical opening spell, Cristian Chivu’s side gradually took control and deservedly moved ahead in the 14th minute through a fortunate set-piece routine.
Federico Dimarco’s corner flicked off Marcus Thuram at the near post before ricocheting off Adam Marusic and into the Lazio net, handing Inter the breakthrough. Lazio, backed by a passionate home crowd despite fan protests earlier in the season, struggled to build momentum as Inter’s aggressive pressing repeatedly disrupted their attempts to respond.
The Nerazzurri doubled their advantage before halftime when Denzel Dumfries robbed Nuno Tavares of possession and calmly squared the ball for Lautaro Martínez to tap into an empty net.
Lazio improved after the restart and threatened through Tijjani Noslin and Boulaye Dia, but Inter goalkeeper Josep Martínez stood firm as Chivu’s men comfortably saw out the victory.

The triumph makes Inter the first Italian side since Juventus in 2017/18 to win both Serie A and the Coppa Italia in the same season, while Lazio must now focus on avoiding their first bottom-half league finish in 16 years after missing out on European qualification.
