Chelsea were beaten 3-1 at home by Nottingham Forest, and it marked their 6th straight loss in the Premier League.

Things haven’t changed yet at Chelsea; instead, it has gone from bad to worse, and it keeps getting worse every week. After beating Leeds 1-0 in the FA Cup semi-final, Chelsea fans finally felt that winning feeling, but that was where it ended as they were handsomely beaten by a heavily rotated Nottingham Forest side.

Chelsea needed to go on an incredible run and depend on other results to go their way if they were going to make the Champions League, but that run won’t even need to happen as their hopes of making it to the Champions League have been cut short early, thanks to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea were shocked from the start as Forest took the lead through an early goal from Taiwo Awoniyi. While that early goal may have looked like a blip in the matrix, Chelsea found themselves in more trouble as Malo Gusto pulled Awoniyi in the box to give Forest a penalty.

Igor Jesus stepped up and punished the Blues, making it 2-0.

Chelsea held most of the possession but couldn’t do anything with the ball. They finally got a chance after a foul on Jesse Derry was ruled for offside. Derry had to be stretched off due to having suffered a nasty fall from the foul.

In the aftermath, Cole Palmer stepped up to take the penalty, and to the agony of Chelsea fans, his penalty was saved by Sels, ending the first half 2-0.

Just seven minutes into the second half, Forest were 3-0 up as Gibbs-White, who was subbed on, placed the ball perfectly for Awoniyi to finish. Gibbs-White would, however, not finish the game as he had a clash with Robert Sanchez. He and Sanchez had to leave the field for health reasons.

Chelsea did pull one back, but it was ruled out for offside. The Blues would later get a consolation through a wonderful overhead kick from Joao Pedro.

The game ended in another defeat for Chelsea, who are still stuck in 9th place and now see their Champions League and to a large extent European qualifications up in flames. The Blues have now lost six straight Premier League games for the first time in their history, scoring just one goal and conceding fourteen in the process.
