Bukayo Saka starred as Arsenal swept Fulham aside 3-0 at the Emirates, moving six points clear of Manchester City and sending a strong title message with a commanding attacking display.

Arsenal produced one of their most convincing performances of the run-in as they brushed aside Fulham 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium, moving six points clear at the top of the Premier League table and piling pressure on Manchester City ahead of Monday night.

With questions recently asked about their attacking edge, Mikel Arteta’s side answered emphatically, delivering a sharp, high-tempo display led brilliantly by captain for the day Bukayo Saka.

The hosts needed just nine minutes to seize control. Saka, lively from the opening whistle, danced effortlessly past Raúl Jiménez down the right before whipping a dangerous low ball across the face of goal. Waiting in the perfect position was Viktor Gyokeres, who made no mistake from close range to tap Arsenal into an early lead and ignite the Emirates.

That opener only intensified Arsenal’s dominance.

Fulham were pinned deep as wave after wave of red shirts surged forward, and former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno was quickly forced into action. He first did well to deal with Gabriel Magalhães’ threatening header before producing a sharp recovery stop to deny Gyokeres a second, with Saka somehow dragging the rebound wide as the pressure mounted.

The Emirates thought a second had arrived when Riccardo Calafiori powered home a header, only for celebrations to be cut short by an offside flag. Arsenal, however, remained relentless and found their reward five minutes before the interval. This time Gyokeres turned provider, slipping a clever pass into Saka’s path, and the winger drilled a precise finish beyond Leno at the near post to cap another dazzling individual display.

There was still time for one more before the break, and Arsenal fully buried Fulham with a devastating third. Leandro Trossard floated a teasing ball into the area, Gyokeres stretched superbly to make contact, and his looping header carried just enough height and accuracy to beat the helpless Leno.

At 3-0 by half-time, the contest already felt effectively over, with Arsenal’s front line slicing through Fulham almost at will.

Arteta, with one eye on the looming Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid, was able to manage his stars after the interval.

Saka made way at the break, while Gyokeres and Declan Rice were withdrawn later on as Arsenal shifted from all-out assault to composed control. Fulham offered brief flickers through Jiménez and Timothy Castagne, but David Raya was largely left as a spectator until a routine save midway through the second half.

There was a sour note for visiting supporters when former Gunner Emile Smith Rowe limped off injured after an attempted effort, receiving warm applause from all corners of the stadium as he departed.

Arsenal nearly added a fourth soon after when Calafiori’s header was brilliantly tipped onto the crossbar by Leno. Arsenal’s first half goal were enough to see the Gunners to another three points
