Roberto De Zerbi provides injury updates on Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons after Tottenham’s vital win over Wolves in the Premier League survival race.
Roberto De Zerbi has admitted Tottenham Hotspur are facing fresh injury concerns after both Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons were forced off during the crucial 1-0 win over Wolves.
Tottenham secured a desperately needed three points at Molineux thanks to a late winner from João Palhinha, ending their miserable 16-match wait for a Premier League victory.
However, the result was tempered by injury setbacks that could prove significant as Tottenham continue their tense fight to avoid relegation from the top flight.
Solanke was the first to leave the pitch, substituted before halftime after appearing to suffer a muscular issue that left him unable to continue. Simons then followed in the second half after going down with a knee problem, immediately raising concern among Tottenham’s bench and medical staff.
🚨🎙️ Roberto De Zerbi on the INJURIES picked up by Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons:
“Solanke a muscular injury, Xavi it’s a problem with his knee. We go to see in the next few days. Solanke it’s not a big problem, I don’t know how many games we lose him.

Speaking after the match, De Zerbi revealed that the club will need until early next week to fully assess the severity of both injuries, with particular attention on Simons’ knee.
The Italian suggested Solanke’s issue may not be overly serious, although he stopped short of predicting how many games the striker could miss. In contrast, he admitted greater uncertainty surrounds Simons.
Tottenham remain in the relegation zone despite the win, sitting two points from safety with four matches left. As they prepare for a daunting trip to Aston Villa, De Zerbi will be hoping the injuries do not further weaken an already stretched squad.
