Juventus secured a crucial 1-0 win over Atalanta to climb into Serie A’s top four
Juventus moved into the top four of Serie A after grinding out a 1-0 victory over Atalanta. The result extends Juventus’ unbeaten run in the league to six matches and significantly boosts their hopes of securing a UEFA Champions League spot.
Atalanta started brightly and came close to opening the scoring within the first 10 minutes. Nicola Zalewski dragged a promising effort narrowly wide, while Giorgio Scalvini struck the post with a powerful header.
The hosts continued to press, and Nikola Krstović had the best chance of the first half, attempting an acrobatic finish from close range. However, despite their dominance, Atalanta struggled for precision in the final third.
By halftime, Atalanta had managed just one shot on target from 10 attempts, highlighting their inefficiency. Juventus, meanwhile, were unusually quiet in attack and offered little threat going forward in a subdued opening period.
The game shifted shortly after the restart, with Juventus taking the lead in somewhat fortunate fashion. Jeremie Boga’s miscued strike looped into the net after Atalanta failed to deal with a delivery into the box. Atalanta responded with renewed urgency and came close to equalising before the hour mark. Berat Djimsiti saw his effort denied by an excellent save from Michele Di Gregorio.

Despite their efforts, Atalanta were unable to find a breakthrough, with their lack of cutting edge ultimately proving costly. The home side’s inability to convert chances summed up a frustrating evening.
Juventus held firm to secure a vital win, keeping their momentum alive ahead of a clash with Bologna. Meanwhile, Atalanta remain seventh and will aim to bounce back when they face Roma in their next outing.
