Donyell Malen scored a hat-trick as Roma beat Pisa 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico, extending their unbeaten home run and boosting their chances of European qualification.

Roma strengthened their grip on a European place with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Pisa, extending their unbeaten home run in Serie A to nine matches. The win gives Roma a four-point cushion over seventh-placed Atalanta ahead of their meeting next week.

The hosts wasted little time in asserting control at the Stadio Olimpico, taking the lead after just three minutes. Donyell Malen went on a brilliant solo run before firing past goalkeeper Adrian Šemper to open the scoring.

Roma continued to dominate, with Bryan Cristante nearly doubling the advantage when his powerful header from a corner was blocked. The Giallorossi maintained the pressure, controlling possession and forcing Pisa onto the back foot.

The second goal finally arrived just before halftime. Devyne Rensch threaded a clever pass through the defence, allowing Malen to finish calmly and secure his brace. Moments earlier, Lorenzo Pellegrini had rattled the crossbar with a free-kick as Pisa struggled to contain Roma’s attacking momentum.

Pisa showed brief signs of life after the break, with Malthe Højholt testing goalkeeper Mile Svilar from the edge of the area. However, Svilar produced a solid save to preserve Roma’s two-goal lead. Roma quickly punished that missed opportunity. Matías Soulé provided the assist this time, and Malen completed his hat-trick by guiding the ball into the bottom corner to effectively seal the result.

Although the contest was largely settled, Pisa continued searching for a consolation. Stefano Moreo forced another save from Svilar with a header, while Roma eased off the intensity in the closing stages.

Late efforts from Rafiu Durosinmi failed to trouble the Roma goalkeeper, leaving Pisa rooted to the bottom of the table and edging closer to relegation. In contrast, Roma recorded their 14th clean-sheet victory of the campaign, a tally only bettered by leaders Inter Milan, as their push for European qualification gathered further momentum.
