The hosts made the perfect start after just a minute when Marcus Thuram chased down a long ball from Manuel Akanji and squared for Lautaro Martínez, who fired past Mile Svilar to open the scoring. Roma responded with a period of pressure, but Yann Sommer produced a remarkable save to deny Donyell Malen, clawing away a powerful header to preserve Inter’s lead.

The visitors eventually found their equalizer five minutes before halftime when Devyne Rensch delivered a cross that Gianluca Mancini headed home.
However, parity was short-lived as Hakan Çalhanoğlu restored Inter’s advantage with a stunning long-range strike just before the break.
Inter took full control early in the second half, with Martínez grabbing his second after combining again with Thuram, before the French forward nodded in from Çalhanoğlu’s corner to make it 4-1. Nicolò Barella added a fifth just past the hour mark, capitalising on a loose ball and finishing confidently after Roma’s defence failed to clear.
Roma pulled one back through Lorenzo Pellegrini late on, but it proved little more than consolation as Inter sealed an emphatic win, continuing their strong head-to-head record and maintaining their push for the title.
