Bayern Munich have appealed Luis Díaz’s suspension after the forward was sent off for alleged simulation during their Bundesliga draw with Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern Munich have filed an official appeal against the suspension handed to Luis Díaz following his controversial red card in the Bundesliga clash with Bayer Leverkusen.
The incident occurred during Saturday’s 1-1 draw when referee Christian Dingert issued Díaz a second yellow card for what he believed was simulation inside the penalty area.
The decision immediately sparked debate, with Bayern players and staff protesting the call during and after the match. The situation became even more contentious when Dingert later admitted he had made a mistake after reviewing the incident.

According to reports in Germany, Bayern have now submitted an appeal to the sports court of the German Football Association in an attempt to overturn the suspension facing the Colombian international. Club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen expressed frustration over what he described as a pattern of questionable refereeing decisions involving Bayern in recent weeks.
Dreesen pointed to several matches where the club believed controversial calls had gone against them, including fixtures played in Hamburg, Dortmund and Leverkusen.
Bayern will now await the outcome of the appeal as they prepare for an important Champions League clash with Atalanta BC before returning to Bundesliga action against 1. FC Union Berlin next week.
