Bayern Munich will be without Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Urbig for the Champions League second leg against Atalanta after the trio picked up injuries in the 6-1 first-leg win.

Bayern Munich will be without three players for the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie against Atalanta after Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Jonas Urbig all picked up injuries during Tuesday’s emphatic 6-1 victory in Italy.

Bayern produced a dominant performance in Bergamo to take a commanding lead into the return leg next week. However, the impressive result was overshadowed by injury concerns involving three key members of the squad.

Musiala, who was influential in Bayern’s attacking play and even found the back of the net during the match, suffered an injury to his left ankle. The issue is particularly concerning given that the German playmaker had only recently returned to action after breaking the same ankle last year.

The 23-year-old has been eager to regain full match fitness after his long rehabilitation, especially with the upcoming FIFA World Cup set to begin in June. Bayern will now carefully monitor his recovery as he continues his comeback.

Davies also endured a frustrating setback after sustaining a thigh muscle injury during the game. The Canadian international had only just returned from a previous injury and was beginning to regain his rhythm before being forced off.

Goalkeeper Urbig’s injury occurred late in the match when he collided with an opposing player while attempting to deal with a dangerous attack. The impact left the young goalkeeper with a concussion, ruling him out for the immediate future.

Despite the injuries, Bayern remain in a strong position heading into the second leg after their commanding first-leg display. The Bundesliga leaders, currently sitting comfortably at the top of the table, will hope the trio can recover quickly as they continue their push for success in both domestic and European competitions.
