Chelsea and West Ham have been hit with massive FA fines totaling over £600,000 following a chaotic brawl during their recent London derby.

The English Football Association (FA) has officially handed out heavy punishments to Chelsea and West Ham following the chaotic scenes that marred the end of last month’s London derby.

Chelsea and West Ham United have both been hit with substantial fines after a massive confrontation erupted on the pitch during the closing stages of their Premier League encounter.

On January 31st, following a match that was already high on drama and intensity, Chelsea managed to pull off a stunning comeback, fighting their way back from two goals down to secure a 3-2 victory.

However, the joy of the win was quickly overshadowed by the physical altercations that involved nearly 20 players from both squads in the 95th minute of play.

Tensions finally boiled over when West Ham winger Adama Traore threw Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella to the ground. The physical confrontation quickly escalated as Traore then clashed with Joao Pedro, drawing in teammates from both sides who were either trying to intervene or join the fray.

The scene quickly descended into a full-scale crowd of shouting and pushing that required significant effort to settle.

The most serious offense of the evening involved West Ham’s Jean-Clair Todibo. Following a VAR review, the defender was shown a straight red card for clutching the throat of Joao Pedro during the heat of the brawl.

This specific act of violent conduct was a primary factor in the severity of the charges and the subsequent investigation by the FA’s disciplinary committee.

In a formal statement, the FA alleged that Chelsea failed to ensure their players avoided improper or provocative behavior during the final moments of the game.

West Ham faced even stricter language, with the FA alleging their players behaved in a way that was improper, provocative, and violent. The governing body emphasized that maintaining order on the pitch is a non-negotiable responsibility for every club in the top flight.

Chelsea have been ordered to pay 325,000 pounds, while West Ham received a slightly lower fine of 300,000 pounds.
