Bayer Leverkusen eased to a 4-0 victory over St. Pauli at the BayArena, earning themselves a spot in the Bundesliga top four.

Bayern Leverkusen had a rough start, securing just one win from their first five games but over the course of the season, they have turned the tides around, moving up from the relegation zone to sitting in the top-four.

Leverkusen came into the game in brilliant form, taking seven points from the last nine on offer, and they got off to an exceptional start, netting twice inside 15 minutes.

St. Pauli struggled to gain a foothold in the contest, failing to register a shot on target in the first half.

St. Pauli’s struggles continued in the second half, with Leverkusen making it 3-0 through Tapsoba’s header less than seven minutes into the half. The visitors failed to register a shot on target until the 75th minute, and Leverkusen added a fourth goal through Poku, who unleashed a bullet from outside the box with 12 minutes to play.

The win is a significant boost for Leverkusen, who are now looking strong contenders for a top-four finish. Their next match is the UEFA Champions League play-off tie against Olympiacos, and they will be looking to carry their momentum into the game.

St. Pauli, on the other hand, are in trouble, with just one win in their last eight league games (D3, L4). They are currently 17th in the table, two points off the relegation playoff spot.
