Midfielder will miss seven games but could be in contention for match against Villareal on 1 March
Barcelona midfielder Pedri will be out for a month after sustaining a hamstring injury in the match against Slavia Prague.
Pedri had to be substituted off after 61 minutes played, when the player felt his hamstring and dropped to the floor. Barcelona conducted tests the following day, Thursday, and confirmed in a statement that he would be sidelined for one month.
That means he could miss up to seven games. Barcelona play Real Oviedo at home at the weekend before hosting Copenhagen in the Champions League next week. Pedri will also sit out games against Elche, Mallorca, Girona and Levante, along with the Copa del Rey match against Albacete.
The midfielder could then be in contention for the home game against Villareal on 1 March.
Pedri has a history of injury problems, although he has largely remained fit over the past year, making 59 appearances in all competitions last season and 24 so far this season.
He suffered an injury in October that kept him out for about a month, before also sustaining an injury that forced him to miss a game in December.
Barcelona are also without Gavi and Christensen long term, and Ferran Torres sustained a minor injury last weekend, but the club have turned a corner from the autumn, when they were seriously plagued by fitness issues across the squad.
