Juventus’ eight-game unbeaten run in Serie A came to an end as Cagliari secured a 1-0 win at the Unipol Domus.

Juventus’s title hopes took a hit, with the defeat leaving them 10 points adrift of leaders Inter Milan.

Cagliari, who had only two wins in their previous 16 league games, started strongly, and their first goal came in the second half. Mazzitelli scored with a fantastic flicked finish on the volley, beating Perin from Gaetano’s free-kick.

Juventus dominated possession in the second half but struggled to create clear-cut chances. Cagliari’s defense held firm, with goalkeeper Elia Caprile making crucial saves, including one from Fabio Miretti’s low drive.

The Old Lady’s attempts to equalize were thwarted, with Kenan Yıldız’s deflected effort hitting the post.

The defeat is a significant blow to Juventus’ title aspirations. They now face the prospect of finishing fifth if Roma beats Torino on Sunday.

Cagliari, on the other hand, moves eight points clear of the bottom three, securing their second win in eight home league matches.
