Juventus moved into the Serie A top four after a commanding 3-0 away victory over Sassuolo, with Jonathan David starring with a goal and an assist.

Juventus climbed into the Serie A top four with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore, continuing their strong recent form. Jonathan David was the standout performer, registering a goal and an assist as the Bianconeri claimed their eighth win in 10 matches across all competitions.

The result came at an important time for Juve, whose push for Champions League qualification had been slightly derailed by a 1-1 draw against Lecce in their previous outing. Determined to respond, Massimiliano Allegri’s side started assertively, despite Sassuolo carving out the game’s first chance when Kristian Thorstvedt dragged a shot wide inside the opening five minutes.

From that moment on, however, Juventus took full control of proceedings. Kenan Yıldız was at the heart of much of Juve’s attacking play, repeatedly testing Sassuolo goalkeeper Arijanet Muric. The Bosnian shot-stopper was forced into four saves before half-time, three of them to deny powerful efforts from the lively Turkish forward.

Juventus eventually found the breakthrough before the interval, albeit in fortunate fashion. Pierre Kalulu’s cross caused confusion in the Sassuolo defence, with Tarik Muharemović inadvertently heading the ball past his own goalkeeper to hand the visitors a deserved lead at the break.

The pattern of the match remained unchanged after the restart, with Juventus continuing to dominate a Sassuolo side that entered the contest without a win in their previous four games. Khéphren Thuram came close to doubling the advantage early in the second half, forcing Muric into another save from a tight angle.

Jonathan David then took centre stage to put the result beyond doubt. The Canadian first provided a perfectly weighted pass for Fabio Miretti, who surged forward and placed his shot into the corner. Moments later, David pressed high to win back possession, rounded Muric, and calmly slotted home for his first Serie A goal since the opening day of the season.

That goal extinguished any lingering hopes of a Sassuolo comeback, with the hosts offering little resistance from start to finish. While Sassuolo remain safely in mid-table despite winning just once in their last seven home games, Juventus move up to fourth and will be confident of maintaining their momentum with upcoming fixtures against Cremonese and Cagliari.
