Thomas Frank Admits Early Tottenham Spell Has Been Tough to Enjoy

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has admitted he is not enjoying his early spell at Spurs, comparing the challenge to a grueling marathon amid fan frustration and mixed results.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has conceded that his start to life at the club has been difficult, likening the experience to running a demanding marathon during a challenging phase of transition.

Following Thursday’s goalless draw away to Brentford, Spurs sit 12th in the Premier League table with just one win from their last four matches, a run that has increased scrutiny on Frank in his first season in North London.

The stalemate at the Gtech Community Stadium sparked audible frustration from supporters, with chants of “boring, boring Tottenham” ringing out and boos greeting Frank as he applauded the travelling fans at full-time.

Asked whether he was enjoying the job so far, Frank offered a candid response, admitting that the current situation makes it difficult to take pleasure in the role while results and performances remain inconsistent.

“When you need to put in a big, big shift and it’s not smooth, and it’s tough, it’s probably difficult to enjoy it,” Frank said, explaining that hard periods are sometimes necessary for long-term progress.

Despite the pressure, the Danish coach stressed that he understands the frustration among fans and believes success will ultimately change their outlook, describing the role as a privilege during a period of major transition.

Looking ahead to Sunday’s home match against seventh-placed Sunderland, Frank remained defiant, insisting that persistence and patience through this “heavy mile” will help Tottenham emerge stronger in the future.
