Real Betis is moving forward with their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Fabio Silva, with advanced talks underway for a potential loan deal this winter.
The 23-year-old Portuguese forward is seeking more regular playing time, having scored just once in 15 appearances for Dortmund since joining last summer.
Silva, who joined Dortmund from Wolverhampton for €22.5 million, has struggled to secure a starting spot, starting only three of his 15 games. Real Betis is keen to include a purchase option in the loan deal, and Dortmund is reportedly open to the idea.
The La Liga club is looking to strengthen their attack in the second half of the season, and Silva’s experience and skillset make him an attractive prospect. Betis may need to sell players like Cedric Bakambu or Chimy Avila to make room for Silva.
Silva’s agent is already exploring options for the January transfer window, and the player is eager to maximize his chances of making Portugal’s squad for the 2026 World Cup. Betis’ participation in European competitions is seen as a key factor in attracting Silva.
Dortmund initially wanted to keep Silva, but the club’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, has confirmed that a transfer is possible. Silva’s loan spell at Las Palmas last season was successful, scoring 10 goals in 24 games.
If the loan deal goes through, Silva will join a Betis squad looking to improve their fortunes in La Liga.
