Tottenham and Manchester United shared the points in a dramatic 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Ruben Amorim’s side reacted late for the second successive game to avoid losing a match in which they had scored first.

Bryan Mbeumo gave United the lead just before half-time, heading in from close range after a cagey opening half-hour that saw neither side register a shot on target. Spurs were jeered off at the interval by their own fans after a flat first-half display where they mustered only one attempt on target, but Thomas Frank’s substitutions transformed their performance after the break.

Mathys Tel levelled late in the second half, finishing confidently after a quick move through midfield, before Richarlison completed the turnaround eight minutes later with a flick on from Wilson Odobert’s attempt.

United, however, refused to fold despite losing Benjamin Sesko to injury with no substitutions remaining. Down to ten men, Amorim’s team rallied and grabbed an equaliser late on with a header by Matthijs de Ligt from a corner.

The draw leaves Tottenham third in the Premier League on goal difference, and United in seventh, though both sides will slip further down the table after the other teams play.
