Bayern Munich has made history by extending their perfect start to the season to a record-breaking 14 wins from 14 matches across all competitions.
They achieved this feat by beating Koln 4-1 in the German Cup second round on Wednesday. They have now broken AC Milan’s record for most consecutive wins at the start to a season.
Harry Kane scored twice to help Bayern come from a goal down and secure the win. The England captain’s impressive performance included a sensational second goal, where he turned and curled a left-footed shot into the top corner.
Bayern initially trailed, with Koln’s Ragnar Ache heading in a corner for a deserved lead in the 31st minute. However, the Bavarians needed just five minutes to turn the game on its head, with Luis Diaz scoring on the rebound to level in the 36th.
Kane’s first goal was followed by another impressive strike, as he headed in from a corner to kill off the tie and bag his 22nd goal in 14 matches for Bayern this season. Michael Olise tapped in from a Diaz assist in the 72nd to complete their win.
The win sets Bayern up for a tough Champions League match against defending champions Paris St Germain next week. However, their focus will be on maintaining their winning streak and making history in the competition.
