Manchester United loanee is yet to complete 90 minutes for Aston Villa in all competitions so far
Jadon Sancho saw his difficult start to life at Aston Villa continue on Sunday after the winger was brought on and later substituted off in the same game.
The 25-year-old Manchester United loanee was introduced midway through the first half of Villa’s 1-0 win over Manchester City. He was called on by Unai Emery to replace Emiliano Buendia after the latter sustained an injury.
After just 45 minutes on the pitch, Sancho was withdrawn again in the 74th minute, with Emery opting to bring on striker Evann Guessand.
It is unclear what tactical reasons or otherwise that Emery had in mind, but Sancho was visibly upset, walking past the manager on the touchline and shrugging off efforts to console him.
It was only Sancho’s second Premier League appearance for Villa since joining on loan in the summer. He is yet to complete 90 minutes for the club in all competitions so far (with five appearances), apparently having partly been hampered by illness.
