Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies shares update on his recovery from a serious knee injury, saying the hardest part of rehab is now over.
Alphonso Davies, the talented left-back of Bayern Munich, has provided a positive update on his recovery from a serious knee injury. Davies suffered a cruciate ligament injury in March while playing for Canada and has been out of action for several months.
In a recent interview, Davies expressed his optimism about returning to the pitch soon. Davies said that the hardest part of his rehab is now behind him, and he’s excited to join his teammates again and play the sport he loves.
“The future looks good, the hardest part of the rehab is now over for me,” Davies said. “I’m excited and looking forward to joining the team again and playing the sport I love.”
The 24-year-old Canadian international has been working hard on his recovery, focusing on building strength in his right leg. Davies mentioned that he’s been running and training well, and he just needs to add more muscle mass to his leg. He’s been doing exercises with the ball in individual training sessions since the start of September.
Davies also opened up about the mental challenges he faced during his recovery. He admitted that not knowing how long he’d be out or whether he’d be able to do certain things was tough.
“The process is more difficult mentally than physically,” Davies said. “The muscles will come back by themselves, but not knowing how long you’re out for or whether you can do certain things – that’s hard.”
Despite the challenges, Davies has remained positive and focused on his recovery. He’s determined to battle back and return to the pitch stronger than ever. “If you don’t do it yourself, no one else will do it for you,” Davies said.
