Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti has expressed confidence in his team’s attacking ability ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on May 31 at Munich’s Allianz Arena.
Reflecting on Inter’s journey to the final, Zanetti drew attention to the team’s spirited performances, particularly in challenging matches like the semi-final against Barcelona.
“Honestly, I thought it would be very difficult, especially with how the game was going,” Zanetti told the media. “Inter looked exhausted. But football gives you these emotions, and this team always believes until the end.” He emphasized that Inter’s consistent performance over the years has earned them respect across Europe.
Zanetti acknowledged the challenges faced during the group stage and knockout rounds, including a narrow loss to Bayer Leverkusen and tough matches against Bayern Munich and Barcelona. He noted, “But when Inter attack, they do it well. We scored seven goals against Barcelona.”
Regarding the upcoming final, Zanetti praised PSG and their coach, Luis Enrique, for giving the team a clear identity. He stated, “I think PSG are a good team – I really admire Luis Enrique, he’s given them a clear identity, and that’s why they are where they are today.”
Zanetti concluded by expressing pride in Inter’s achievements under coach Simone Inzaghi, highlighting the team’s consistent presence in top-tier competitions and their readiness to face PSG in the final.
