Wrexham Stuns Nottingham Forest in FA Cup Thriller

Second-tier Wrexham beat Nottingham Forest on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw, reaching the FA Cup fourth round.

Wrexham led 3-1 in the second half but conceded two late goals, including a Callum Hudson-Odoi brace. Forest’s struggles continued after Sean Dyche fielded a reserve team.

Wrexham’s Liberato Cacace and Oliver Rathbone scored early goals, but Forest fought back with Igor Jesus and Hudson-Odoi’s late strikes. The match went to penalties, where Okonkwo shone.

Okonkwo’s save secured Wrexham’s first Premier League scalp in 26 years. The win caps a remarkable rise under owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, from non-league to Championship [2].

“Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson praised his team’s resilience: “It was a rollercoaster game. The late goal knocked the stuffing out of us, but we rallied.”

Other FA Cup results saw Oxford United, Wigan Athletic, and Port Vale progress. Oxford beat MK Dons on penalties, while Wigan and Port Vale won 1-0 in League One.
