Bayern Munich have seen their bid to sign Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart rejected, with the club withdrawing from negotiations and the deal potentially collapsing.
Reports from Germany are suggesting the deal between Bayern Munich and VFB Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade is “almost certainly off” for this summer.
Despite reaching an agreement with the player, Bayern’s negotiations with VfB Stuttgart have stalled over the transfer fee. The German champions had offered €55 million plus bonuses, with Woltemade’s camp forgoing some payments to make the fee around €60 million
However, Stuttgart stood firm and rejected the offer, demanding a sum over €75 million. This led Bayern to withdraw from the negotiations, and the deal is now on the verge of collapsing altogether. Jan-Christian Dreesen, Bayern’s CEO, attempted to convince Stuttgart officials to accept the offer during a video call, but ultimately, the clubs couldn’t reach an agreement.
The transfer saga has been ongoing, with both clubs engaging in discussions about Woltemade’s future.
Stuttgart’s CEO, Alexander Wehrle, had previously stated that the club wouldn’t sell Woltemade unless an exceptionally high transfer fee was offered. Stuttgart’s supervisory board also decided to maintain a tough negotiation stance, insisting on a transfer fee of at least €65 million.
Woltemade’s agent, Danny Bachmann, expressed frustration with Stuttgart’s unwillingness to engage in negotiations despite the substantial offer. The player himself has reportedly agreed to join Bayern and is eager to make the move. However, Stuttgart’s demands have put the deal in jeopardy.
As the situation stands, Woltemade will return to Stuttgart’s summer preparation, and Bayern will focus on other priorities. Both teams will face off in the Franz-Beckenbauer Supercup on Saturday, August 16th.
