Liam Rosenior wants to win, both on the good days and bad days, and that’s exactly what Chelsea needs.

Immediately he took the job, Liam Rosenoir knew he was in for a ride. Moving from Strasbourg to Chelsea is no easy feat; it’s a big club, and coming in to fill the shoes of a manager who won two trophies(The UEFA Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup), in a club where winning trophies is non-negotiable, Rosenoir knows it’s not just about selling dreams, it’s about achieving them.

His first four games saw him manage Chelsea in four different competitions, throwing into different intensities and realities, but one thing remained constant: the expectation. To win.

His first game saw him beat Charlton 5-1 in the FA Cup before falling 3-2 to Arsenal in the first leg of the EFL Cup semis. He then went on to beat Brentford, Pafos, and recently Crystal Palace. Rosenior has 4 wins in his first five games for Chelsea.

In these games, he has shown that you can play beautifully or ugly, but what matters is winning. In the Brentford game, Chelsea weren’t particularly dominant. Brentford could’ve taken that game away from them, but with every pass, cross, or loose ball, Chelsea just wanted to get in the box, score, and win.

In the Pafos game, where they dominated, they were frustrated by the setup, but still they got the necessary three points, which puts them in a good position going into the final game of the UCL league phase.

Another thing that has helped Rosenior so far is the incorporation of players who were struggling for game time under Maresca.

Maresca spoke a lot about rotation, but still, players like Estevao, Santos, Acheampong, and Hato were struggling for game time. Rosenior has brought these guys into the squad.  Both Hato and Santos have played in almost all of Rosenior’s games in charge, while Acheampong and Estevao are back to doing what they do best.

In one of his interviews, he spoke about the quality and leadership in his squad and how he believes in them, and in these interviews, one word is constant: win.

Before the Arsenal game, he was quoted as saying, “I’ve got enough resources and tools with me now to win now.”

He wants to win, and that’s something Chelsea needs right now. It’s a mentality that needs to be drummed into the players because in a club like Chelsea, all that matters is winning, and you can only remain a manager and impress the fans if you win. Not just games, but trophies as well.
