Bayern Munich’s star player Jamal Musiala is back in training after a long injury layoff, but he isn’t expected to be in action until December or January.
Jamal Musiala, Bayern Munich’s talented attacking midfielder, is edging closer to his long-awaited return to the pitch.
The 22-year-old has been sidelined since July, when he suffered a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle in a collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma during the Club World Cup.
According to reports, Musiala is expected to be back on the pitch within the next four to eight weeks, with December being a possible return date. In the best-case scenario, he could feature in Bayern’s final two games of the year against Mainz (December 14) and Heidenheim (December 21).
However, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany is cautious about rushing Musiala’s return, prioritizing his full recovery over immediate playing time. “When will he come back? The plan was January, but we’ll see,” Kompany said. “These long-term injuries can sometimes heal a little faster, but sometimes they take longer. That’s why I want to give him the necessary rest for his return.”
Musiala’s return will be a massive boost for Bayern, who have struggled to replicate their usual attacking creativity without him. The young midfielder has been making steady progress in his rehabilitation, recently resuming ball work and passing drills.
At the latest, Musiala should be ready by January 11, when Bayern kick off 2026 against Wolfsburg. With his impressive skills and talent, fans are eagerly awaiting his comeback, and it’s likely to be a significant factor in Bayern’s chances of success in the new year.
