Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany confirms Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry are set to return for Wednesday’s UCL showdown against Arsenal.

Vincent Kompany opened his Tuesday press conference with a personnel update, confirming that Bayern will likely have a full squad for the upcoming Champions League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates.

Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry, who missed Saturday’s 6‑2 win over Freiburg, are both on track to return.

“Serge Gnabry is looking good. We’ll see if he can play 90 minutes. We were worried, but he’s giving good signals. Joshua Kimmich has also given good signals. It was a positive day. We’ll probably have all players available,” Kompany said.

Arsenal, like Bayern, have won all four of their Champions League games this season, and Kompany is fully aware of the challenge ahead.

“We won our first four matches, which was important. So far we’ve done what we set out to do, and we hope this continues. But playing against this team will be the most difficult task we face at the moment. We’re happy about that – that’s why we’re here, that’s what we want,” he added.

He emphasized the need to balance respect for Arsenal’s strengths with confidence in Bayern’s own qualities. “As a player in big teams you analyse your opponents’ strengths, but you also believe in your own strengths. It’s true there’s a lot to consider when you play Arsenal. But they have to do the same. We want to have a good day. If we manage that, we’ll be able to show what we’re capable of.”

Kompany also warned against underestimating the Gunners. “I can see what makes Arsenal special, but I don’t want to forget what makes us special. It’s important that we show that tomorrow.”
