Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres fails to find the net in Sweden’s 2-0 defeat to Switzerland, continuing his goal drought.

Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal’s striker, had a tough game for Sweden in their World Cup qualifier against Switzerland. He failed to score, and his team lost 2-0. This adds to his struggles, having scored only three goals in 10 games since joining Arsenal.

Gyokeres started alongside Liverpool’s Alexander Isak in attack but couldn’t make an impact. The Swedish national media criticized his performance, calling him “resigned and awkward.” They felt he didn’t seem to believe in himself.

Despite the criticism, Gyokeres did have some positive moments. He registered two key passes and created one big chance in the match. However, it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Svenska Fans, a Swedish publication, wrote that Gyokeres’ form has been waning lately. They felt he didn’t seem to have confidence in his abilities. Fotbollskanalen, another Swedish outlet, noted that Sweden needed Gyokeres to be at his best, but he didn’t quite deliver.

Gyokeres was awarded a respectable 7.2 rating by Sofascore, despite failing to get a shot on target. Meanwhile, Alexander Isak, who played the full 90 minutes, received a 6.5 rating. Isak had a shot hit the post and created a big chance but was also criticized for his actions.

The defeat left Sweden at the bottom of Group B with just one point from three matches. They face Kosovo at home on Saturday, hoping to get back on track. Gyokeres will need to find his form if Sweden is to have any chance of qualifying for the World Cup.

The pressure is on Gyokeres to score goals for both club and country. With only three goals in 10 games for Arsenal, he will be looking to break his duck soon. His struggles have raised concerns about his confidence and form.
