Victor Osimhen: Galatasaray’s Record-Breaking Goal Machine

Victor Osimhen’s arrival at Galatasaray in September 2024 was met with high expectations, and the Nigerian striker has exceeded them all. 

In his debut season, Osimhen has not only become the club’s top scorer but has also etched his name into the history books by breaking the record for the most goals scored by a foreign player in the Turkish Süper Lig, a record held by Mario Jardel who scored 34 goals in the 2000/2001. Osimhen now has 35 goals.

In the Süper Lig, he has featured in 20 matches, starting 20 and coming on as a substitute in 2, and netted 20 goals, showcasing his lethal finishing and positioning. Across all competitions, Osimhen amassed 35 goals in all competitions,  marking a personal best in his career.

Beyond individual accolades, Osimhen’s contributions were instrumental in Galatasaray’s successful campaign. His goals played a pivotal role in securing the Turkish Cup, adding another trophy to his collection and adding a 24th one for the club. His performances have not only delighted the fans but have also sparked a massive campaign urging him to stay at the club amid interest from top European and Saudi clubs.
