Tottenham goalkeeper Vicario is reportedly keen on a move to Inter as the Serie A giants plan for life after Yann Sommer.

Reports in Italy suggest Vicario could be set for a return to Serie A, with Inter emerging as strong contenders for the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper. With Vicario now in his third season in north London, speculation is mounting that his time at Spurs may be nearing an end.

The Italy international joined Tottenham from Empoli in the summer of 2023 for a fee of €18.5 million. He quickly established himself as a key figure at the club and has been one of the more consistent performers during his spell in the Premier League.

Vicario also played an important role in Tottenham’s Europa League triumph last season, adding a major European honour to his résumé. However, despite continental success, Tottenham have struggled to find stability in domestic competition, with their Premier League form remaining highly inconsistent.

Inter are meanwhile planning ahead in the goalkeeping department, as veteran shot-stopper Yann Sommer advances in age. The Nerazzurri are keen to identify a long-term successor who already has experience at the top level, making Vicario a natural fit.

Although Inter recently made contact with Aston Villa over Emiliano Martínez, reports indicate that Vicario remains their preferred option. The Italian’s familiarity with Serie A and international experience give him an edge as Inter shape their future squad.

According to Italian media, the 29-year-old is fully open to returning to Italy and would welcome a formal approach from Inter during the summer transfer window. He is understood to be receptive to the idea of playing his club football back in his home country.

Vicario has also reportedly spoken with Italy teammates Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolò Barella, Federico Dimarco, and Davide Frattesi about life at San Siro.
