Tottenham plan to submit an improved bid for West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus after their initial £50m offer was rejected, with the player keen on joining Spurs.
Tottenham Hotspur is set to bid again for West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus after their initial £50m offer was rejected.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian winger has been a key target for Spurs, and new manager Thomas Frank has already approved the signing. According to reports, Spurs will return with an improved second bid next week, as Kudus is keen on joining the North London side.
Kudus has been an impressive player for West Ham, notching 19 goals and 13 assists across his two campaigns with the club. He was signed from Ajax for £38m two summers ago and has been a valuable asset for West Ham. However, the club is open to letting him go, and Spurs are confident they can secure a deal with an improved offer.
The player’s contract contains an £85m release clause for Premier League sides, but West Ham won’t demand it.
Kudus is keen on joining Spurs, despite interest from Chelsea and other top clubs. Chelsea have been in touch with Kudus’ camp, but Spurs want to accelerate the deal.
Tottenham had explored other options, including Eberechi Eze and Antoine Semenyo, but those deals fell through. The club baulked at the £70m asking price for Semenyo, and Eze’s deal was shelved. With Kudus, Spurs are confident they can make a deal happen.
The potential signing of Kudus would be a significant coup for Tottenham, and the club is willing to increase their offer to secure the player’s services. If West Ham accepts the improved bid, Kudus could become a key player for Spurs in the upcoming season.
Kudus’ signing would strengthen Tottenham’s attacking lineup and provide a new dimension to their gameplay. With Spurs qualifying for the Champions League, Kudus may be attracted to the prospect of playing in the competition.
