Tottenham Signs West Ham Midfielder Kudus for £55m

Tottenham has completed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55m, subject to work permit, with the Ghana midfielder joining on a six-year contract until 2031.

Tottenham has signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55m, subject to a work permit. The Ghanaian midfielder has joined Spurs on a six-year contract until 2031. West Ham had rejected an initial £50m offer from Tottenham last week, but the clubs eventually agreed on the higher fee. Kudus, 24, has made 65 Premier League appearances for West Ham, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists.

Kudus expressed his excitement about joining Tottenham, citing the club’s history, size, and Champions League participation as major factors in his decision. “I’ve always wanted to play at the highest level,” he said. “How big the club is, the history, and the Champions League as well, so it’s a big moment. I’m very happy and can’t wait to start.” Kudus prioritized a move to north London despite interest from at least six top clubs.

The Ghanaian midfielder is expected to play a key role in the team, bringing his creativity, skill, and experience to the midfield. Kudus’ impressive form for West Ham, including 14 goals in all competitions in his first season, suggests he will be a valuable addition to Spurs.

Kudus’ decision to join Tottenham was influenced by the club’s head coach, Ange Postecoglou’s replacement, Thomas Frank.

“From where [Frank] has come from, and seeing the amount of talent he has developed to become great players, it’s a big sign as to why I wanted to work under him as well,” said Kudus.

Kudus may not be the only new signing at Tottenham, as the club is set to complete the signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. Gibbs-White is expected to undergo a hospital for a medical before completing a £60m move to Spurs on Friday.
