Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United lock horns in the Premier League this weekend and the injury updates from Thomas Frank shows that Tottenham could lose that game before it even begins.

Tottenham need a win if they want to revive any hopes of finishing in European spots. The Europa League champions currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League and if things don’t turn around quickly, there would be no European nights for Tottenham fans next season.

Thomas Frank and his men mustered a 2-2 draw against Manchester City last week but they’ll need a more concrete effort to beat resurgent Manchester United who have now won three games in a row.

To deliver a concrete performance, you need players and with the latest news from Tottenham’s camp, they could miss a number of first team players ahead of the Manchester United game.

Romero, Solanke, Van de Ven and Spence are all doubts ahead of the game but Frank believes he should have them in contention for a starting spot on Saturday.

Romero has been dealing with an illness but he’s expected to be fit. Spence picked up a minor calf injury last week and will need to undergo more checks to see if he’s available for the game.

Van de Ven who missed Tottenham’s last two games is expected to be back in action this weekend.

Solanke who was Tottenham’s hero against Manchester City could miss the Manchester United game as he was clearly struggling in the final minutes of the 2-2 draw vs Manchester City. Frank said: “He clearly also struggled to run, so we knew… before the game, again it would be a big push to play 90 minutes. He’s not there fitness-wise because he’s been out for so long. We’ve been, in a way, a little bit forced to play him.”

Pedro Porro and Bergvall are expected to return after the Manchester United game while Danso, Davies, Richarlison, Bentancur and Kudus are all expected to return between March and April, leaving Kulusevski and Maddison as the only-long term absentees.

Frank would be hoping that the available players can get him over the line on Saturday and hopefully, he doesn’t have any new injury worries given the fact that Tottenham failed to sign anyone in the January transfer window.
