Cristian Romero’s 90th-minute header rescued a point for Tottenham Hotspur, as they drew 2-2 with relegation-battling Burnley at Turf Moor.
Tottenham started brightly, with Djed Spence testing Martin Dubravka early on. However, Burnley had the first real chance, with Lucas Pires’ goal ruled out for offside.
Pedro Porro’s free-kick hit the side netting, but Tottenham took the lead through Micky van de Ven’s strike just before half-time.
Burnley shocked Spurs by equalizing in stoppage time, with Axel Tuanzebe scoring his first goal in two years. The Clarets continued to threaten, and Lyle Foster’s goal put them 2-1 up with 15 minutes to go.
Spurs looked set for defeat, but Romero’s late header, from Wilson Odobert’s delivery, salvaged a point. The draw extends Burnley’s winless streak to 14 games, while Tottenham remain under pressure, having won just two of their last 14 league games.
The result leaves Burnley seven points from safety, while Spurs sit eight points above the drop zone. Thomas Frank’s job remains on the line, with Tottenham facing tough games against top teams in February.
