Tottenham Hotspur fought back from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw against Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League campaign continued with a thrilling 2-2 draw against Bodo/Glimt in Norway.
The visitors were second-best for large periods, falling behind early in the second half when Jens Petter Hauge curled a strike into the far corner. Hauge then scored again, superbly turning away from Pedro Porro before hammering a strike into the bottom corner.
Despite the setback, Spurs showed resilience and fought back to level the score. Micky van de Ven gave Tottenham hope when he powerfully headed in Porro’s cross, and Destiny Udogie crashed a header against the crossbar as they pushed for an equalizer.
The equalizer arrived with just one minute remaining when Jostein Gundersen turned Archie Gray’s cross into his own net.
The draw was a fortunate escape for Tottenham, particularly after Kasper Hogh had blazed a penalty over the bar in the first half. Hogh’s penalty miss failed to rouse Spurs, and they only started playing once they found themselves 2-0 down.
Manager Thomas Frank may be pleased by the battle his side showed at that stage, although there was still an element of fortune about the equalizer.
Tottenham’s performance was lackluster for most of the match, struggling to create chances or put together decent moves in the final third.
They were too reliant on their defense to hold out an enthusiastic and confident Bodo/Glimt side in the first half. The conditions, with Bodo located 200km north of the Arctic Circle and their home games played on an artificial pitch, didn’t seem to be a significant factor in Tottenham’s performance.
Despite the underwhelming display, Tottenham remains unbeaten in the Champions League this season. They have four points from two games, but there’s plenty of room for improvement. Thomas Frank’s side needs to work on their consistency and cutting edge in attack to ensure they go deep into the competition.
With this draw, Tottenham will look to regroup and improve their performance in their next match. They face AS Monaco on October 22, 2025, in the Champions League, and will be eager to secure a positive result.
