Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel on a six-year deal worth £29.8m, with the player joining the club permanently after a successful loan spell.
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the permanent signing of France U21 international Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich on a six-year deal worth £29.8m.
The 20-year-old forward had joined the club on loan in January, scoring three goals in 20 appearances, and the temporary deal was always intended to become a permanent one.
Thomas Frank, who replaced Ange Postecoglou as Spurs manager, has given his approval for the deal. The club initially paid a £7.3m loan fee for Tel’s services, and the player has now committed to the north London club until 2031.
Tel had a significant role at Bayern Munich after joining from Rennes in 2022, playing 69 times in his first two seasons.
However, he fell out of favor under Vincent Kompany and made only eight league appearances before joining Spurs on loan in January. Despite initial hesitation, Tel eventually made the switch to Tottenham and has now sealed his permanent move.
